Long ago, in a much brighter time before the Mad Elven Gods walked the lands, Iron Harbor, the Jewel of the Iron Isles, was born. From the murky swamps the port of call for trade across the land grew, as a colossus to be admired and respected throughout the world. Gold, Iron, Diamonds and Emeralds flowed from hand to hand. Powerful enchantments were weaved and smoke rose from the largest breweries in the land. Things were, good and it was a land of plenty with farms and fields as far as one could see. Dwarves came from the north with their Donkey filled with wealth, meeting humans and exchanging them for flasks of the finest ale. Elves selling Mithril and enchanting the finest Adamant Blades in exchange for Emeralds the size of their fists. Even the Kobolds prospered, with bellies full of food and pockets full of shines, Kobold scouts, hunters and fishermen were in constant demand. Thus was the easy life and Wealth flowed back to the homelands and an age of peace came about due to no one wanting to bring an end to these times, but all things have an end.
Over time, Iron Harbor fell, perhaps due to piracy, economic collapse, or diplomatic breakdown. Some say it was the Mad Gods who insanely lashed out against it's glory, we do not know as time has washed away it's true fate, just as the swamps washed away more of it's magnificence and sunk it into the land with only the cobble walls left to tell the tale...until now.
The sound of Dwarves working has reawakened the City of Iron. It's walls reclaimed, it's ancient heritage slowly being reborn. Trade is starting to take hold and the trade companies are setting up way-points to reach the other capitals. Roads are being built and with them the beast of trade, the Iron Harbor is rising once more.
What fate will be in store for the Jewel of Iron Islands? Will the Mad Gods strike again, ruining the lands and the world when hope had finally show itself? What of the Insane, power-mad Elven Prince, who evil makes even the mightiest of the Kobolds tremble? Will his watch over the Land of the Dead Elves turn Westward to crush goodness and the Spirit of Peace once for all? Will the Human-Dwarven Trade Compact be made and what of the poor Kobolds?
Only the future will tell. Only the future.
