Today was the day I made my friend a Thane. I was having a fitful night of sleep. My dreams where plagued by me being lost in an open expanse devoid of even ash. Just dry lands, I was surrounded by bones of my Elf brothers and cried out to the expanse in tears tearing my hair out for a companion, for I was alone for such an unforeseeable amount of time the lack of another would surely kill me. I woke without sweat to the cold morning in my hidden room above the Greenfort. The rains just started and the cold mist and chill hanging around the fort would be enough to make any shiver in the twilight. That day I resigned myself to writing my will on my throne when Raloth came to me. He was clad for travel and looked as if he was expecting something. I asked him if he was ready to leave. He said he was. And then without a word we understood. Wanderlust had taken him and I was the guide. We took off.
That day we decided to head out parallel to the bridge towards the unknown. We found on the way a house that Raloth had already found before, made in the old elven style and thoroughly abandoned, ransacked to the point where we couldn't even procure a single provision from it. We abandoned the derelict and continued on our way until we hit horses. I being prepared for any situation had a saddle at ready and employed a horse for a small amount of time. I looked around and saw Raloth forgetting wits for a second struggling to communicate with the animal. I could not help but suppress a laugh as I walked him through the process of coercing the horse to take him. This would later be much to the horses dismay for as we traveled along we once again begot into a land of great crevasses in the earth. To which Raloth gleefully rode his horse into.
"Gods dammit." He cursed every time this happened, while I just laughed the way to our unknown destination, after the third time the horse refused to carry Raloth any farther so he left the steed, who had more resilience and patience than any other as we traversed the great dead places. Following torch paths left by ancient travelers we made our way to an open expanse filled with grass. To this we saw in our sites a great Elfhome made from clay and wood. And left there was signs of invasion by Kobolds. Cursing the beasts and cursing the slave race we began to take the signs down and fix the elf home up. It was a grand palace built in the fashion of a triangle with decorative roof colonnades that pointed as if to praise the sun, inside filled with great vines and with a floor made from upturned and interlocked logs. It was a marvel of a place that I couldn't help but be impressed with, not only it's construction but also it's size.
We resigned ourselves to also reforest the area, which we made progress on as we made this place more and more of a real home. Outside we also found human script, assuming this place had once been a great place where many people met. Eventually we had made a sitting room, restocked the trees and wood as well as food, removed the vines choking the house and turned this devastated derelict into a palace of great measure. All the while Raloth also explored a nearby cavern. He came back with great enchanted items of great power, obviously left over from the previous owners. Raloth took the new sword as I dubbed him the Thane of this new land. The sword of power calling out and naming it's new master in Raloth. He became Raloth Elfthane, Bloodkeeper. We decided that if we should abandon our lands if we must this would be where we meet and keep the Elven people alive and free. After constructing him a crown of gold and a throne of birch and stone and fire I bade him well and returned to my lands.
