[Dabaldur seats himself in the meeting hall. The Barracks is lit up and the warmth strikes against his cold body. Throwing a parchment on the table and grabbing a quill he frustratingly dreads the task at hand. Writing. He was never any good at writing. His right hand quivers in wait for the pain soon to come. An old hunting accident so long ago. Dabaldur drifts off for a few seconds thinking of days long past before he dips the quill and starts reminiscing of the latest days and not those far away]
Ranger Report #1:
Ranger Dabaldur
By orders of the Commisar of Southbridge I am to scout the surrounding countryside and look for anything that might threaten or help the colony. I started off going West of the colony. Past the animal farms. Soon hit the oceanside and followed the coast for a while. Big plain with huge oak trees. Note for self: Can be used for scouting purposes. Some ravines and a river splitting the landscape. River might be used for easier transport methods but may be to narrow and have too many turns. Continuing on I hit a mountain range with huge waterfalls coming out of it. The mountains stretches to my east and back towards the town. The plains continue with a slight dip to the west, but I did not venture further.
Climbing the mountain I found huge visible deposits of what looked like iron ore and coal. I have dubbed these rolling grey behemoths the Iron Mountains for future reference in reports. Dipping down east I followed another river south between these huge mountains. This also seemed promising for boat ventures. Cutting through there I found the eastern plains that stretch for miles the other way. The east will be the next focus for me.

Ranger Dabaldur
