Name: Torme, son of Tulle, of the Axenforge Clan. Age: 37 Profession: Scribe, Scholar, and Devotee of the Word Background: There have been few fortresses held by the dwarves which have lacked for a member of the Axenforge Clan. The family, by and large, considers it a sacred duty to help establish new frontiers and settle new mountain holdfasts. Traditionally, members of the Axenforge Clan devote themselves to the martial practices or apprentice to a blacksmith. It is, after all, in their name.
Torme, son of Tulle the Elder and Olga Axenforge (nee Wrathbone), has broken from that tradition in his devotion to the written word. The Axenforge has always had curiously conservative religious views, and Torme has taken to those views even more than the rest of his kin. Torme holds writing to be a nearly religious act in and of itself- the written word being a direct gift from the gods. He hopes to not only detail the new mountain stronghold's history, but also build a library that will serve as a symbol of the Word to all dwarves.
Torme is a taciturn dwarf, giving little time for pleasantries or tact. He dislikes those who would equivocate, and offers no congratulations for a dwarf merely doing his duty.
On other races, Torme has strong but simple views;
"The word of a Human is dirt- it will crumble under pressure. The word of an Elf is wind- it turns easily against you. The word of a Kobold is mud- it soils what it touches."
