I've always been curious when most people are on. Typically when I'm on there's like two or three people on. Just wondering if its just like that now or if I'm missing out on something awesome, lol.

the time zone i'm in doesnt really fit when i'm on, since i work overnights. how should i adjust my answer?

I think the implication for most people is that afternoons or evenings local time is when they would get on. If the intent is to say when you are on or otherwise reachable, adjust for that.
